Peterson, Richard C, “Rick,” 52, High Springs Florida, passed away at North Florida Regional Medical Center on October 10, 2008.

Born in Lake City, he was a life long resident of High Springs. He was a retired lawn tech for West Farms. He was a member of First Baptist church of High Springs, loved to fish, hunt, camp and loved Gator football.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl W. Peterson, Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl L Peterson; four sons: Benjamin White and Justin Peterson both of Gainesville, Carl Peterson and Travis Peterson both of High Springs; a daughter, Crystal Norton of High Springs; his mother, LaVerne Peterson of High Springs; a brother, Mike Peterson of High Springs; two sisters, Donna Walko of Gainesville and Debbie Landsman of Sarasota; two grandchildren, Ariana White and Lexi Grace Curran.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2121 SW 16th Street, Gainesville, Florida, 32608 or to the American Heart Association, 1221 NW 13th Street, Gainesville, Florida, 32601.

Services were held on October 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of High Springs with Dr. Eddie Gandy officiating. Interment followed at Santa Fe Burlington Cemetery in Branford, Florida. Visitation was held at Evans-Carter Funeral Home, on October 13, 2008 from 6-8 p.m.
