One Live Oak man stabbed another Thursday night after the two argued over what kind of music to listen to, according to LOPD Det. Sgt. Ron Shaw.

LOPD officers responded to 705 NW Hillman Avenue around 9:18 p.m. in response to a stabbing. Upon arrival they found 56-year-old Sylvester Hernandez, address unknown, sitting on the front steps of the residence. Hernandez told officers he had been stabbed in the stomach by 41-year-old Alejandro Del Carpico, of that address.

Shaw said an argument broke out between the two about the kind of music they would listen to. Del Carpico then allegedly stabbed Hernandez, possibly with a pocketknife, and fled on foot. Del Carpico was found walking about two blocks away by LOPD officers. He was positively identified by Hernandez as the person that stabbed him, Shaw said.

Hernandez was taken to Shands Live Oak and later transferred to a Gainesville area hospital. Shaw there is no report on his condition at this time, but that he “appeared to be suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.”

Del Carpico was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. He was transported to the Suwannee County Jail where a $5,000 bond was set.
