The Jasper, White Springs and Lake City branches of GTE Federal Credit Union will soon close permanently, members learned recently. The announcement was made in a letter from Senior Vice President of Branch Operations for GTE Federal Credit Union Suzanne Wilson.

The current economic downturn was cited as the reason.

The closure is scheduled to take effect at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
