Bertie Lee Dasher, age 76 of Palatka, passed away Monday, November 9, 2009 at Kindred Hospital-North Florida in Green Cove Springs following an extended illness. A native of Lake City, she had lived in Palatka since 1959 coming from Live Oak. Bertie retired from the Putnam County School System as a cafeteria worker for Moseley Elementary, Beasley Middle School and Jenkins Middle School. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of College Road Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by a son, C.W. Dasher, Jr.

Bertie is survived by her husband of 57 years, C.W. “Waldo” Dasher, Sr., a son, Jimmy Dasher and wife, Nina of Palatka, a daughter, Marilyn Cynkar of Dillon, CO, a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Dasher of Green Cove Springs, 4 sisters, Zilla Cribbs and husband, Earl, Lorene Parrish, Eula Mae Milton and Mearl Milton and husband, A.C. all of Lake City, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Couch and husband, Jeremy, Shannon Stallings and husband, Ricky, Amy Dasher and Curt Dasher, 2 great-grandchildren, Jonah Couch and Ella Couch.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 14, 2009 at College Road Church of Christ with Brother C.L. Overturf, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, Friday at Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka and one hour prior to the start of the service Saturday at the church.
