Lucille Weeks Pounds

Lucille Weeks Pounds, 78, of Barney, passed away Friday, April 23, 2010 at her residence.

She was born November 26, 1931 in Cook County, where she lived most of her life as a homemaker and a member of Adel Church of Christ. She was the wife of Clyde Wallace Pounds, deceased, and daughter of father James Edward “Eddie” Weeks, deceased, and mother Cora Estelle Shaw Weeks, deceased.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Jan Pounds of Adel, and Larry and Wanda Pounds of Sparks; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Woody Simpson of Barney; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Frances Weeks of Berlin; grandchildren Gary and Angela Pounds of Moultrie, Dana and Wade Hurst of Norman Park, Valerie Simpson and Ben Walker of Hahira, Rita and Chris Posey of Adel, David and Melissa Pounds of Sparks, Mindy and Shane Brown of Hahira; eight great grandchildren; special niece Estelle Peek of Quitman, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by three brothers, Carroll Week, J.M. Weeks, Charles Weeks and two sisters, Maggie Willis and Bessle Monk. 

Visitation will be from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, April 26, at Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home North, 202 N. Hutchinson Ave.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 27 at Adel Church of Christ by Minister Bill Ward. Burial will be at Antioch Church Cemetery. — Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home, Adel.
