Emma E. Grigsby

Mrs. Emma E. Grigsby, 85, of Albany, Ga. and formally of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2010 in Albany, Ga.
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Grigsby were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home in Albany. Reverend Randy Lamb will officiate and the family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Grigsby was born June 26, 1924 in King George, Va., the daughter of the late Russell M. and Nettie Jenkins Grigsby. She lived in Virginia most of her life where she owned and operated her own restaurant until moving to Live Oak, Fla. in 1972. She worked in the nursing field as an LPN for twenty-two years and provided private care at hospital and home of terminally ill patients. Mrs. Grigsby was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Live Oak and she enjoyed reading, sewing, traveling and watching the Atlanta Braves play.
Survivors include her son, Stacy Grigsby of Albany, Ga. ; Lewis Grigsby of Blairsville, Ga. and Jerry Grigsby of Va.; daughters, Lois Lake of Leesburg, Ga. and Carolyn Bowen of Blairsville, Ga.; Sisters, Clara Lee McAtee of Panama City Fla., Evelyn Olson of Laurel, Md. and Betty Ellis of Panama City, Fla.; a special granddaughter, Kristi Grigsby; 8 other grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis W. Grigsby, Jr. in 1969.

Arthur “Art” John Gyles Jr.

Arthur John Gyles, Jr., “Art” age 73, of Live Oak, Florida, and the trails takes flight of passage into the heavens on Monday, May 10, 2010. Born in Muskegon, Michigan and raised in Tucson, Ariz., he retired from the City of Dunedin, Fla. He was then able to fully enjoy his passion to fly. We will all take a moment to look up and reflect on you, each time we hear that small aircraft overhead, just passing by.
He was predeceased by his wife, Sandy Gyles in 2008, parents Arthur & Janet Gyles, grandson Anthony “Tony” Trejo and nephew Robby Gyles.
Survivors include one daughter, Susan (David) Trejo, Tucson, Ariz.; one son, David (Patti) Gyles, Ft. Collins, Colo.; brother, Robert A. Gyles and sister, Barbara J. Gyles Jones bother of Tucson, Ariz., one grandchild Andrea (Angel) Dicochea and eight great-grandchildren, four nieces and one nephew.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the Mayo Baptist Church with Brother Jimmy Legg officiating.
