Thelma Precella Hurst

Ms. Thelma Precella Hurst, age 68, a resident of Orlando Fl, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010.  She was born in Mayo, Fl, to the late John Martin Hurst Sr.and Lula Mae (Ward) Hurst.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Eula Hendrix of Perry, Fl, and Jeanette Whidden and husband Mike of Ft. Myers, Fl; 2 brothers, John Martin Hurst, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fl, and Donald Hurst and wife Lyndal of Mayo, Fl, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation was held Wed, evening from 6-8 pm at Burns Funeral Home in Mayo, Fl. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 2 P.M. at Riverside Baptist Church in Mayo, Fl. Burial  followed at Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Forms will be available at the visitation or may be obtained @ www.leukemia.org. Owen Gary Thomas

Owen Gary Thomas, age 54, a lifelong resident of Lafayette County, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at his residence in Mayo, Fl.  He was born in Madison, Fl, to the late Gary Luther, and Maybeline West Thomas. Mr. Thomas was an active and devoted member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.  He was a truck driver and a devoted father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening and fishing.

Survived by 2 Sons; Shannon Thomas and DeWayne Thomas, 2 brothers; Lester Thomas and Edward Thomas, 2 grandchildren; Trenton and Emily Reese, all of Mayo, Fl.

Funeral Services were held at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Mayo on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at 11 A.M. with Bro. Todd Babione officiating.  Interment  followed at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  

Family  received friends 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
