The fatally-injured woman was identified as 36-year-old Jeanette Deas, of Madison. The driver of the 1999 Harley Davidson, Bradley McNicol, was also being thrown from the bike but only suffered minor injuries.
According to FHP, McNicol was westbound on US 90 near Falmouth Springs at 2:40 p.m. when a 1985 GMC truck driven by 19-year-old Christopher Smith of Live Oak, also westbound on US 90, slowed to make a left turn into Falmouth Springs. McNicol reportedly failed to slow, then took evasive action as the truck made its turn. The motorcycle collided with the left rear of the pickup. McNicol and Deas were both thrown from the motorcycle.
Deas was flown to Shands UF by Trauma One with critical injuries. She died of her injuries at 8 p.m. Sunday at the hospital.
FHP reported that Deas was wearing a helmet. McNicol, 35, of Lee, reportedly was not. Smith was not injured.
Charges are pending an investigation, FHP reported.
