Newbern hammers Colquitt County, 40-0

J.L. Newbern Middle School’s seventh grade football team routed Colquitt County 40-0 on Wednesday in Moultrie.

Tim Griffin scored three touchdowns for Newbern. Griffin has scored nine touchdowns in three games this year.

Nytique Owens caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from RaShay March. Owens also returned a fumble 50 yards for a score. DeAnthony Spencer returned an interception 40 yards for a touchdown. Kendrick Patrick also had an interception.

Newbern (3-0) hosts Pine Grove next Wednesday.

Lowndes Middle 7th grade tops Hahira

VALDOSTA — The Lowndes Middle School seventh grade football team beat Hahira Middle 24-6 on Wednesday.

Tyson Harris ran for two touchdowns, Trey Dean ran for a touchdown and Anthony Robinson ran for a touchdown and made an interception for Lowndes.
