Ruth Hill Watson

Ruth Hill Watson, 92, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010. Born in Brooks County, Ga., to the late Albert Frank and Fannie Davis Hill, Mrs. Watson was an active member of the United Methodist Church for most of her life.
Mrs. Watson is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Opal and Bill Herndon; a son, Frank Watson; and a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Richard Macka McCandless; grandchildren and their spouses; Becky and David Sands, Kim and Walter Muller, Wendy and Robert Carraway, Alan and Angie Watson, Laura Disedare, Brian and Melanie McCandless, Greg and Julia McCandless; great-grandchildren, Nick Sands and his wife, Leah, Jonathan Sands, Chris and Patrick Muller, Paige Schuler, Aaron Watson and his wife, Jade, Austin Watson, William and Thomas Carraway, Victoria and Matthew Disedare and Emily McCandless; one great-great grandchild, Brey Sands and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert P. Watson, and her brothers, William W. Hill and Louis B. Hill.
The family will receive friends at the Carson McLane Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at Hall Cemetery in Morven, Ga. Brother Walter Muller will officiate. In remembrance of Ruth Watson, donations may be made to Langdale Hospice House, where she received care, or to the charity of the giver’s choice.
