Isaac O. Hart
Isaac O. Hart, better known as Ike Jr., was born on September 28, 1944 and passed away on December 29, 2010 at his home in Mayo. He was preceded in death by his Father, William Isaac Hart and Mother Pearlie Mae Hart. He is survived by his sister Dolores Hart Ceraso and Brother-in-Law Milton E. “Angie” Ceraso, and a host of cousins, classmates, and friends. Ike Jr. was a 1962 graduate of Lafayette High School and was a lifelong resident of Lafayette County and a member of the Mayo United Methodist Church. Ike Jr., lived his entire life on the family farm where they grew tobacco and raised cattle. In later years he remained at home and helped care for his mother. He was known and loved by everyone in the community.
Funeral Services were held Friday, December 31, 2010 at the Mayo United Methodist Church with Rev. Geary Rowell officiating. Interment was at Bethel Cemetery.

Myrtle Carrie Snipes
Myrtle Carrie Snipes, age 88, went to be with the Lord, December 24, 2010 at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Myrtle was born in Lafayette County, July 13, 1922, daughter of the late Henry B. Bell and Eliza Elizabeth Singletary Bell.
She was a life long rsident of Lafayette County and a charter member of Bethel Creek Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Randolph Lewis Snipes, in 1967.
Survived by her daughter, Charolette Snipes (Chris) Hawkins, her son, Stephen (Sheila) Snipes; one sister, Ira Bell Goodwin and one brother, John Henry Bell; 3 grandchildren, Kim Shiver, Casey Snipes (Russell) Ditter, and Randy Snipes; 3 great grandchildren, J. C. and Nina Shiver and Peyton Ditter; all residing in Lafayette County.
Services were conducted by Beggs Funeral Home of Madison, Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating.
Interment at Bethel Creek Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethel Creek Baptist Church.
