Reat Elbert Deas, age 72, of Live Oak, Florida passed away Friday, December 24, 2010 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla. Reat was born April 9, 1938 to the late Dave and Lillie B. Sills Deas. He was a retired truck driver. Reat moved to Live Oak from the Tampa area some 16 years ago. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Reat was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Deas and two children, Charles Deas and Terri Renee Deas.

Survivors include his faithful companion of 26 years, Jean Johns; one son, William Deas of Texas; three daughters, Tonnie Rebecca Deas and Angela Roberts both of Lake Park, Ga., and Shawnda Childs, Live Oak, Fla.; one brother, Merdick Allen Deas of South Carolina; twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lillian Washington

Mrs. Lillian Washington passed away Monday, January 4, 2011 at Shands at Lake Shore Hospital in Lake City, Fla. She was born April 8, 1937 in Live Oak, Fla. to the late Mr. Jasper Washington and Mrs. Annie Washington.

She leaves to cherish her memories six loving children: Benjamin Washington, Detris Ivey (Eric), Live Oak, Fla., Larry Bennett (Shenay) Am Canyon, CA, Alonzo Dudley, Bartow, Fla., Vera Hazelton, Glenn Burne, MD, Carolyn Bennett, Glenn Burnie, MD, 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, two loving sisters and two brothers, a host of nieces, nephews, cousin and friends.

The family will meet and greet family and friends Friday evening from 7:30 to 8:30 at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Live Oak, Fla.

Funeral services will be Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Ebenzer A.M.E. Church in Live Oak, Fla.

Bennie Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

A.J. Williams

August 25, 1938 –

Mr. A. J.  Williams age 72, of Starke, Fla. passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010 at Hospice N. Central Gainesville, Fla. He was born August 25, 1938, in Live Oak, Fla. To the late Mr. Lewis Williams and Mrs. Roberta Winston Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memories six loving children, Mrs. Claddtte Newson (Ronnie) Live Oak, Fla., Priscilla Chandler, Starke, Fla., Kenyetta Milton, Daytona, Fla., Dexter Williams (Joyce), Live Oak, Fla., Alane Williams (Brenda) and Soran Williams (Lisa), Lake City, Fla.; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Correne Etherdige; and one brother, James Williams, Live Oak, Fla. Nieces and nephews, cousins and friends also survive.

The family will meet and greet family and friends Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pure Church of Righteous, Live Oak, Fla.

Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Judy Hayes

November 15, 1953 –

January 4, 2011

Judy Hayes, 57, Live Oak, Fla. passed away on January 4, 2011 after a long illness. The Charleston, West Virginia native moved to Live Oak from Inverness thirty-one years ago. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Live Oak.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Hayes, Live Oak, Fla.; one son, Bryan R. Hayes, Laguna Niguel, Cal.; and three brothers, Richard Tolley, Etowah, Tenn., David Keith Tolley, Inverness, Fla.,  and Daniels Lee Tolley, Orlando, Fla.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm January 8, 2011 at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerry Owens and Rev. Steve Woodbury officiating. Interment will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.

William “Randall” Love

William “Randall” Love, 61, Live Oak, Fla. passed away on January 4, 2011 after a long illness. The Orlando, Fla. native lived most of his life in Live Oak, loved to fish and was of Church of God faith.

He is survived by his wife, Alethia “Sissy” Love, Live Oak, Fla.; mother, Betty Love, Live Oak, Fla.; two daughters, Gail & Gerald Bell, Live Oak, Fla., Connie & Joe Horne, Live Oak, Fla.; one sister, Annie & David Waits, Saraland, Ala.; two brothers, Davy & Frances Love, Jasper, Fla.; Tony & Angie Love, MacClenny, Fla.; and six grandchildren, Angel Bell, Darren Robinson, Brandon Hucko, Randy Hucko, Cameron Horne and Gracelynn Horne. He was preceded in death by his father, J.C. Love

Grave side services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 7, 2011 at Orange Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Domenic Ranieri officiating.
