Jerome started on the air on Sunday, Nov. 21, and is on the air every Sunday morning from 9 until 11 a.m. He has named his program “The Sunday Morning Gospel Train.” He has been in radio broadcasting for 20 years, starting as a gospel radio D.J. at WQHL 1250 A.M. in Live Oak (“The Big 98”) under the supervision of Elder Smart and Abraham Robinson.

Jerome said when he heard the news that Jasper was getting a radio station he decided to see if he could get a Sunday morning program. Later, he met station manager Scott James and asked him about having a gospel radio program. After sitting with James and giving him his ideas, he gave Carter his permission to go ahead and start right away! What a blessing; Jerome was shoutin’ aloud! His next step was to go talk to some churches and businesses about sponsoring the radio program, and they did.

“When I first got on the air, residents of Hamilton County were calling in to congratulate me. They were so surprised that Jasper now has a gospel radio station,” Carter said.  “I am very excited because I’ve been praying to God a long time about having my own gospel program. My prayers were finally answered. I’m going to continue to keep praying that God keeps giving me the strength, wisdom, and knowledge to stay on the air.”

Carter feels this has been a blessing to Hamilton County and all surrounding counties as well. He would like to thank all the sponsors of his program: Jesus, the Living Word of Deliverance Church with Pastor Kathy Hawkins, Rev. Charles E. Burney and the Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Rev. Willie Warren and the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church of Live Oak, The Temple of God Holiness Church of Live Oak with Pastor Lottie Brown, Rev. Tim Tooten and The Harvest Christian Ministries Church in Baltimore, Maryland, Lottie’s Laundry in Live Oak, and Stoudermires Restaurant in Live Oak.

Jerome would like to say thank you to the ones that donated to the gospel program in order to keep it on the air. He’s praying that God will keep blessing him with more sponsors in order to expand the program every Sunday morning.

Jerome would like to hear from more Jasper, White Springs, and Bellville residents on how they like the program on Sunday mornings. He’s asking everyone to tune in every Sunday morning from 9 until 11 a.m. for “The Sunday Morning Gospel Train” on FM 107.5. He can be reached at 386-792-1075 or 386-792-1893.
