Mrs. Frances McLeod, 79,of Ashburn, Georgia, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011, at her residence after a long illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Perry Funeral Chapel, Ashburn, with burial to follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. McLeod was a native of Jasper, Florida, the daughter of the late John & Erie Phillips Bonnell. She was a retired seamstress and had been a resident of Ashburn since 1969 and a member of the Westside Baptist Church, Ashburn.

She is survived by her husband Maurice McLeod, Ashburn, and her children Andre (Diane) McLeod, Ashburn, Fred (Barbara) McLeod, Cordele, Myra (Ronnie) Windham, Ashburn, Cynthia Purcell, Chula, Carolyn McLeod, Ashburn, her brother Mac Bonnell, Pensacola, Florida; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Theodore Marvin Sirmans

September 9, 1937  –  January 16, 2011

Mr. Theodore Marvin (Little Bear) Sirmans, 73, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his daughter’s residence in Valdosta, Georgia, following an extended illness.

Mr. Sirmans was born September 9, 1937, in Valdosta, Georgia, to the late Lott Sirmans and Emma Allen Sirmans. He owned and operated the 94-441 Service Station and was a member of Masons. He was preceded in death by his wife Emma Roe Sirmans, and one brother Chester Wheeler.

Survivors are four daughters and sons-in-law: Sherylann Sirmans & Grant Mullins, Valdosta, Theresa & Rick Mulder, Las Vegas, Sandy Pitts & Mark Hill, Valdosta, and Debbie Sirmans, Fargo, Carl Smith, Iraq; four brothers George Allen Sirmans, Jacksonville, Georgia, Hammond Sirmans, Fargo, and John Glenn Wheeler, Fargo. Nine grandchildren Samantha Smith, Fargo, Jeannie Smith, Homerville, Emily & Brandon Corbitt, Fargo, Charlie & Teresa Pitts, Homerville, Brian & Tabitha Pitts, Turkey, Megan Smith, Las Vegas, Austin Gibbs, Valdosta, Emma Gibbs, Valdosta, and McKenna Smith, Homerville, three great grandchildren, Dalton Smith, Fargo, Grant Tucker, Homerville, and Levi Abe Corbitt, Fargo, and several other relatives.

Services for Mr. Sirmans were held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at two o’clock at Bethel Primitive Baptist Church, Fargo. Interment was at Boney Bluff Cemetery.

Annell Tuten Morgan Mathers

October 13, 1926  –  January 16, 2011

Annell Tuten Morgan Mathers, age 84, of Jasper, FL. passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs, FL. following an illness of some time. Annell was born in Madison County, FL. on October 13, 1926 to the late Burt and Idell Tuten. She lived most of her life in Hamilton County, FL. and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. Annell was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children Mr. Collis Morgan in 1982 and her son, Charles F. Morgan in 1984.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence T. Mathers, Jasper, FL.; one son, Clyde O. Morgan (Karen), Jasper, FL.; one daughter, Frances DuBose (John), Lake City, FL.; one brother, Clifford Tuten, Live Oak, FL.; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Corinth Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Harry T. Reid Funeral Home, Jasper, FL. was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Mitchell Spencer

April 22, 1931  –  January 15, 2011

Mrs. Mary Mitchell Spencer, age 79, of Jennings, Florida passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Shands of Live Oak. She was born April 22, 1931 to the late Mr. Adolphus and Lucy Mitchell.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Savior and joined Bethel A. M. E. Church.

Mrs. Spencer is survived by her two children Mazel Spenser and Gregory Blackmon of Jennings, Florida, four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special nephew Mr. Larry Mitchell and a special niece Sharon Shiler also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, at Triumph Holiness Church at 1:00 p.m. Elder Arnold Philmore, Pastor, and Minister Ricky Curry officiating. The family will meet and greet family and friends Friday evening, January 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Triumph Holiness Church.
