On Friday, Feb. 4, children from low income families will be able to receive free dental services at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College as part of the national Give Kids A Smile Day. Services offered range from cleanings and sealants to emergency care.
Give Kids A Smile Day is designed to provide care and to raise awareness of the importance of accessing dental care for poor children. It is the centerpiece to National Children’s Dental Health Month.
This year’s event — the second for the Valdosta region — is co-sponsored by the Southwest District Dental Association and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College and organized by South Georgia Pediatric Dentistry.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 are considered eligible if they are in need of dental services but do not have dental insurance, Medicaid, or PeachCare. All services are being donated by various dentists, hygienists, assistants, and Wiregrass Tech faculty, hygiene, and assistant students.
The clinic is limited to 100 patients.
Patients will be seen by appointment only between 9 a.m. and noon.
To schedule an appointment, call South Georgia Pediatric Dentistry at (229) 247-3200.
