Helen Knight Jones, 79, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011. Helen was a native of Orlando, Fla. and a life-long resident of Live Oak, Fla.

She is survived by three children, Harry (Gladys) Williams, Jacklyn (Larry)Turner and Andrew Jones, all of Orlando, Fla.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 7, at Thomas Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church with Rev. Charles Graham, pastor.

Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

Stuart P. Moore

Stuart P. Moore, 84, of Live Oak, Florida, passed away Friday, January 28, 2011, after a lengthy illness. He was laid to rest February 1, 2011. Stuart was born June 1, 1926, in Sheffield, Alabama, to Verlie and William Moore and spent his childhood in Michigan. After graduating high school, he entered the armed services and was stationed in Europe towards the end of World War II. He married and returned to the United States upon his honorable discharge. Post war, he entered college and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. He went on to work in Georgia and after returning to Florida, he married Nina Trotter in 1966. In 1968, Stuart and his family settled in Live Oak, Florida, where he worked as Suwannee County Forester until retiring in 1988. During his retirement Stuart continued to operate his own business as a Professional Land Surveyor until 2007. Stuart greatly enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and especially fishing in the Gulf. Stuart was preceded in death by his parents and three grandchildren. He is survived by three children from his first marriage, Gregorie Moore; Brian Moore; and Marcia Moore; his wife of 44 years, Nina Moore and their three children, Michael Moore and wife Melissa; Neil Moore; Cindy Rykard and husband Dewey; and his surviving grandchildren. Stuart is also survived by his sister, Colleen Glass; and many other extended family members. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff of Haven Hospice. Donations may be made in Honor of Stuart at Haven Hospice of Lake City, Fla.
