Mayo bust nets $400,000 in drugs

The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into the operation of a marijuana grow house in Mayo. On Tuesday, February 7, they served a search warrant on a residence located at 353 NW Atlantic Rd., Mayo, according to an LCSO press release.

During the search, deputies reportedly seized 199 marijuana plants and 2,024 grams of harvested marijuana in two separate rooms. The operation consisted of grow lights on timers and an automatic watering system. The total drugs seized have a street value of approximately $400,000. Multiple items related to the cultivation and processing of marijuana were also seized from the residence.

Two residents of the home at 353 N.W. Atlantic Road, Mayo were arrested and booked into the Lafayette County Jail.

Arrested was William E. Holliday Jr., 48, on charges of possession of marijuana, cultivation of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of drug equipment. 

Also arrested was Linda E. Enos, 47, on charges of possession of marijuana, cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug equipment.

Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office Deputies Condy, Keen and Tysall executed the search warrant.
