Merger talks revived

Talks will continue on a possible building department merger between the city of Live Oak and Suwannee County.

At January’s city council meeting the issue was deemed “dead” and didn’t look like it would be revisited. However, Councilman Adam Prins continued talks on his own with Suwannee’s county coordinator and brought back more information than was previously supplied to the council.
Council President Bennie Thomas instructed Prins to take the issue back to the Administrative and Finance Committee and bring back a recommendation at the next council meeting in March.
