LIVE OAK-Perhaps Stuart Brown’s lead off home run was a sign of things to come for Suwannee.

Brown’s solo shot was one of five home runs on the night for Suwannee in a 16-0 win Feb. 25 over visiting Fort White at Booster Field.

Ryan daSilva, Blake Swann, Matt Pennington and Trevor Lister also had home runs in the game for the Bulldogs.

Suwannee managed a home run in each of the first three innings to open up a 15-0 lead after scoring six runs in the first, two in the seventh and seven in the third.

Swann (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), DaSilva (2-for-2, 3 RBIs), Jackson Brown (2-for-3, 2 RBIs), Pennington (2-for-4, 3 RBIs), and Lister (2-for-4, 3 RBIs) led the Bulldogs offensively.

Pennington nearly pitched a no-hitter in five innings, striking out ten and allowing one hit, a double in the top of the fifth from Cody Spin.

Suwannee (4-0, 1-0), which traveled to Newberry Tuesday, travels to Santa Fe Friday for a huge District 5-3A showdown.  

Suwannee 15, Hamilton County 1

JASPER-Suwannee scored early and often in a 15-1 rout Feb. 22 of rival Hamilton County at Fred Mickler Field.

A five-run first inning helped Suwannee take a 5-0 lead. The Bulldogs extended it to 11-1 after three innings with a run in the second and five in the third.

Sophomore Cody Gamble (1-0) picked up the win going three innings. Gamble, relievers Erlach LaRosa, Mike Kronan, Trey Owen and Blake Swann combined to surrender just one run on three  hits.

Stuart Brown, who went 4-for-4 with 3 runs and 4 RBIs, continued his hot hitting streak, which now stands at 10-for-12 with 8 RBIs through three games.

Blake Swann (2-for-3), 3 RBIs), Ryan DaSilva (2-for-4, RBI), Jackson Brown (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Trevor Lister (2-for-2, 3 RBIs) chipped in for the Bulldogs also.
