PRESS RELEASE
The Hamilton County Grand Jury was impaneled today and returned an indictment for First Degree Murder While Armed in the February 27, 2011 shooting of Robert James Robinson, Sr. by Joseph Boyes Daniels, Jr. at the Club 600 in Hamilton County. Robinson lived some thirty days after being shot before dying from his wounds on March 28, 2011.
Circuit Judge Greg Parker received the indictment and ordered a capias for the arrest of Daniels who will be held without bond. He is currently being held in the Hamilton County Jail.
State Attorney Skip Jarvis said that it was apparent that the operator of this club was attempting to prevent the introduction of weapons into the building, however Daniels was able to sneak in a .25 caliber pistol used to shoot Robinson. “This is a sad situation in which the victim left two sons and both his and the defendant’s families had been friends. It makes no sense. Surely we place a greater value on human life than this.”
