Donations are needed by July 21 for the 1st Annual Back to School Bash in Branford.

Superintendent of Schools Jerry Scarborough, in conjunction with Branford Elementary, Branford High School and the Rotary Club of Branford will be holding the 1st Annual Back to School Bash for area students on Saturday, August 13 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Branford High School Gym. The committee behind this event is comprised of Jennifer Barrs, principal of BES and Seth Thoreson, principal of BHS, along with several teachers and Trannie Lacquey from the Rotary Club of Branford.

They are asking area businesses, churches, clubs, civic organizations and individuals to help them reach their goal of 300 backpacks to help local students.

A $15.00 donation can fill a backpack with supplies that a student needs for the start of the new school year this coming fall.

You can either sponsor one of these packs or you may wish to contribute supplies for the packs. Supplies can be dropped off at the elementary school and any monetary contributions can be dropped off at either school. Please make checks payable to the Rotary Club of Branford.

The backpacks will be given away at the Back to School Bash on August 13 on a first come basis.
