Where are they now: Andra Davis, Bruce Johnson

For years they each roamed the sideline at Paul Langford Stadium, but what have both Andra Davis and Bruce Johnson been up to since.

Davis attended Suwannee where he was a four-year starter for the Bulldogs and as as a senior in 1996, Davis was the team captain for the football and basketball teams and was recognized as a first-team Florida Class 4A all-state selection and a SuperPrep high school All-American in football.

After graduating, he received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, where he played for coach Steve Spurrier 1998-2001.

As a senior team captain in 2001, he was recognized as a first-team All-SEC selection and a second-team All-American. During his college career, he played in thirty-five games and started 23 of them; he finished his career with 232 tackles, five quarterback sacks and four forced fumbles, three of which were recovered.

Davis was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round (141st pick overall) of the 2002 NFL Draft and he played for the Browns for seven seasons from 2002-2008 making his NFL debut against the Kansas City Chiefs on September 8, 2002.

Davis became the Browns starting middle linebacker in 2003 and finished the season leading the team with 171 tackles. He also tied a franchise record with four sacks in a single game that year against Kansas City. During the 2004 season he missed the final five games of the season with a knee injury, but finished the season with 89 tackles and three interceptions.

In 2005, Davis recorded a career high and team leading 199 tackles. His best games were a 20 tackle effort against the Green Bay Packers and a 14 tackles, 2 tackles for loss and 2 pass breaks ups in a 22-0 win over the Miami Dolphins, which led to him being named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

On December 15, 2005 the Browns gave him a five-year contract extension. During the 2006 season Davis played in 14 games, finishing with 104 tackles, one sack and two interceptions. During the 2007 season he struggled starting only 10 of 16 games, finishing with only 67 tackles.

After the 2008 season, Davis became a free agent. He finished his six seasons with the Browns starting 83 of 105 games, recording 711 tackles (484 unassisted), 8.5 sacks, and 8 interceptions.

On February 28, 2009, Davis signed a two-year contract with the Denver Broncos and they released him on March 11, 2010.

In his single season with the Broncos, he started 13 of 16 games, recording 90 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

Davis signed with the Buffalo Bills on March 16, 2010 and recorded 41 tackles last season.

Through nine years, Davis had accumulated 772 tackles and 12 sacks during his career.

As a senior at Suwannee in 2004, Johnson played cornerback and wide receiver for Suwannee, making 44 solo tackles along with 17 assisted tackle, one forced fumble, and two interceptions, along with 39 receptions for 546 yards and three touchdowns and was named the District Player of the Year. Out of high school he was ranked the 20th best cornerback by Scout.com. and chose Miami over Auburn and Clemson.

After going undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, Johnson, who is the nephew of current Seattle Seahawks cornerback and former Miami Hurricane teammate Kelly Jennings. was signed as an undrafted free agent by the New York Giants.

On September 20, 2009, he returned a Tony Romo interception 34 yards for a touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys, the first defensive touchdown scored in the Cowboys new stadium.

On December 21, 2009, he recorded his second interception of the season for 49 yards against the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. The Redskins ran the Swinging Gate on that play before halftime with punter Hunter Smith at quarterback which resulted in Johnson getting the interception.

Johnson ended his rookie season with 46 total tackles, 1.0 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, 8 passes defended, 2 interceptions and a touchdown.

His second season in the league was an unforgettable one as he recorded just five tackles and was placed on the IR half way through last year with a knee injury.   

Coming off an injury, Johnson was eager to get back on the field this season but according to Giants, he ruptured his Achilles tendon in practice August 4 which may sideline him for a while and possibly the entire season.
