Ida Pearl Lee Atwell, 89, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 after a long illness. The Lumpkin, Ga. native lived most of her life in Suwannee County. Mrs. Atwell loved playing cards, cooking candy, especially divinity, and especially loved her family. She was a member of TOPS and attended First Baptist Church, Live Oak, Fla.

She is survived by three daughters: Jean McCarty (predeceased husband: Don), Live Oak, Fla., Linda (J.W.) Kitchens, O’Brien, Fla., Erie (Cabb Thomas) Stutts, Mayo, Fla.; three step-daughters: Barbara Stidham, Live Oak, Fla., Connie (James) Mersel, Ft. Myers, Fla., Nan (Ernest) Cawby, Wellborn, Fla.; two sons: Jesse James (Marcia G.) Lee, Keystone Heights, Fla., Henry Wade (Tomi) Lee, Lake City, Fla.; one sister: Peggy (Bobby) King, Wellborn, Fla.; one brother: Thomas Andy (Anna) Morrison, Cocoa, Fla.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loved ones. She is preceded in death by her first husband: Kenneth Willard Lee; second husband: Frank Whalen; third husband: Ray Atwell; two sons: Robert Linton Lee and Kenneth Russell Lee and one stepson: Gene Whalen.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Tim Carver officiating. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations be made to Haven Hospice, 6037 West US Hwy 90, Lake City, Fl 32055.

Mary Elizabeth Ross Hildreth

Oct. 5, 2011

Mary Elizabeth Ross Hildreth, 88, passed away, Oct. 5, 2011. “Libby” as she was known to many, was born and raised in Branford, Florida. She was the daughter of the late Hansel O. Ross and Evelyn Rowell Ross.

Over the years she resided in Jacksonville and later Fernandina Beach, Florida, where her husband, Howard L. Hildreth, predeceased her. She resided in her later years in Columbia S.C., to be closer to family.

She is survived by daughter, M. Kaye Tate, granddaughter, K. Angela Merck, and two great-grandsons, Dakotah Merck and Harrison Merck. Her siblings are sisters, Beatrice Griffin and Lillian Terry (deceased), and brothers, Hansel C. Ross and William Ross.

Donations may be made to the Branford United Methodist Church.

Ella A. Melvin, infant, Lake City, Fla. passed away suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011.

She is survived by her parents: Neil & Cristina Melvin, Lake City, Fla.; three brothers: Antonio Arteaga, Lake City, Fla., Victor Arteaga, Lake City, Fla., Ethan Melvin, Lake City, Fla.; one sister: Kaydence Olson, Lake City, Fla., maternal grandparents: Myrna Olson, Lake City, Fla., Luis Marti, Lake City, Fla. and paternal grandparents: Mitch and Joan Melvin, Lake City, Fla.

Services were held at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at New Life Christian Fellowship with Rev. Buddy Meloy officiating.

Irene C. Touchton

June 18, 1925 – Oct. 13, 2011

 

Irene C. Touchton, 85, Branford, Fla. passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011. The Viper, Ky. native moved to Branford from Largo, Fla. in 1974.

Mrs. Touchton was the secretary for Lake City Community College in Lake City, Fla., bookkeeper for Touchton Heating & Air for three years and a member of the First Baptist Church of Branford, Fla.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Vasser D. Touchton and two daughters: Debbie Dew and Pamela Phillips.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Main and Rev. Gene Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Cemetery.

Matthew T. Egloff

Jan. 1, 1993 – Oct. 16, 2011

Matthew T. Egloff, 18, O’Brien, Fla. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 after an auto accident. The Fort Pierce, Fla. native moved to O’Brien, Fla. eight years ago. He was a laborer in agriculture and of Catholic faith.

Mr. Egloff is survived by his parents: Maurenn McMinn-Raithel (John), O’Brien, Fla. and Craig W. Egloff (Jennie), New Port, Tenn.; one sister: Megan K. Bowes, Port St. Lucie, Fla.; maternal grandparents: John (Mareen) Raithel, Port St. Lucie, Fla. and Walter Egloff, Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; paternal grandparent: Mareen Marotta, Baldwin, New York.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Christ Central Ministries, Lake City, Fla. With Rev. Lonnie Johns officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. at the church.

Jon-Ryan Nazworth, 20, Orlando, Fla. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 after an auto accident. The Gainesville, Fla. native moved to Orlando from O’Brien, Fla. a year ago and he was of Baptist faith.
