VSU soccer falls to Anderson, 1-0

Valdosta State fell to 10-4 on the season with a 1-0 loss on the road to Anderson Wednesday afternoon. Anderson moved to 9-6 on the year.

Despite shooting more shots and registering the same shots on goal, Valdosta State could not get past Anderson.

The Blazers shot 12 shots with two shots each coming from Margaret Stauffer, Emily Cooper and Rebecca Miller. Each player put one of their shots on goal while Lauren Hale also placed her only shot on goal. Five other Blazers took shots.

The Anderson Trojans only took seven shots, with six coming from the combination of Jessica Kleinberg and Allie Waters (three each). Waters was able to shoot from the corner of the box and lift the ball over Olivia Mills. The goal came early in the second half, and Valdosta State could not answer.

Valdosta State will try to rebound in a conference match against West Alabama at 2 p.m. Saturday.
