Norman Lee Underhill

Aug. 14, 1949 – Oct. 28, 2011

Mr. Norman Lee Underhill, 62, of Live Oak, was born on Aug. 14, 1949 and passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, in the V.A. Medical Center in Lake City, Florida, following a brief illness. A native of Arcadia, Florida, Mr. Underhill had been a resident of Live Oak since 1995 having moved there from Sarasota, Florida. Mr. Underhill had worked most of his life as a “real life cowboy”. He had been a ranch hand for several cattle ranches in Southern Florida and was a great auto mechanic as well. Mr. Underhill was an avid hunter and he loved to fish. He was a Christian. Mr. Underhill was preceded in death by his father, William L. Underhill.

Mr. Underhill is survived by his wife of forty years, Beth Underhill of Live Oak; his mother, Thelma Underhill of Venice, Florida; his three sons, Bill Underhill (Heather) of Live Oak, Florida; Bob Underhill of Live Oak, Florida; and Carl Underhill (Sharon) of Madison, Florida; three brothers, Earl Underhill, Edward Underhill and Dennis Underhill all of Sarasota, Florida and a sister, Christine Williford of Venice, Florida. Five grandchildren also survive.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Underhill were conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 in the New Hope Cemetery (located off 129 North on 52ndTerrace) in Live Oak with Rev. James Countryman officiating. Interment immediately followed. There will be no visitation. Samuel Luther Fanning, Jr.

Oct. 21, 2011

Samuel Luther Fanning, Jr. age 91, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2011 at Shands of Live Oak.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011 at Brewer Lake Baptist Church, Day, Fla. with visitation after the service. Interment will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011at Lakeside Memorial Park, Winter Haven, Florida.

He moved  to Mayo in 2006 coming from Winter Haven, Florida. He was a member of Winter Haven Masonic Lodge #186 and was in the US army Air Corp.

He was a member of Brewer Lake Baptist Church.

He is survived by 1 son: Sam Luther Fanning III of Lakeland, Florida; 1 daughter: Sandra Baldwin of Mayo; and 1 granddaughter: Dr. Lora Elizabeth Baldwin.
