A Ronald McDonald House is a place for families of a hospitalized child to stay for free. It is a home away from home. They provide a private room like a motel but also have a main living area, kitchen, and playroom for all to enjoy. They provide transportation to and from the hospital for the families. It is needed more than another place to eat.

I’m asking for gift cards to The Olive Garden for Christmas. Here’s to hoping!

No, letting China get ahead of the U.S. in solar technology is foolish. Not admitting the continued U.S. reliance on fossil fuels is foolish.

Bad example of why to support United Way — to pay for someone else’s child care. If you can’t afford to support your own kids’ expenses, don’t have them and, at the very least, don’t have more.

People would respect the law enforcement in this area a lot more if they would practice what they preach. I’m so sick of seeing a Lowndes County deputy or state patrol tailgating a civilian car on the interstate or driving aggressively and speeding excessively in general. We’ve all heard the same tired excuses like they may not have their lights on but still may be responding to a call. They carry on like they are above the law and that’s a fact.

To the gentleman in the white Ford Taurus who found my wallet at a gas station, called me to return it, and waited for 20 minutes in Valdosta traffic for me to drive back and claim it: Thank you! Your example of kindness and honesty was greatly appreciated!  May God bless you and yours!

My God answers all of my prayers. Of course, I’ll ask God for a Bass Pro Shop in Valdosta. God does like to fish. I have faith it will happen and God will tell me, “Consider it done.”

To the person complaining about no turn lanes on 41 North on to Tillman crossing. You can thank the people that live near Hahira for that mess, and you for not coming out and speaking in favor of expanding 41 North. Your comments truly make me understand why we got people here that can’t drive.

On Wednesday night, my vehicle was disabled in the Harvey’s parking lot. Four different people stopped and asked if I was OK or needed help while I waited on AAA to come. I would like to say “Thank you!” It is so refreshing to meet compassionate, kind strangers! God bless you!
