Cullen LaVoye Boggus, 78, of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Friday, Jan. 5, 2012 after a short illness at Suwannee Valley Care Center Hospice in Lake City, Fla.
Mr. Boggus was a Fitzgerald, Ga. native who moved to Live Oak in 1946. He was owner/operator of Live Oak Jewelry, a veteran of the Korean conflict while serving in the Navy, past Grand Master of Barrett Masonic Lodge, graduate of Bradley University as Master Watch Maker, president of Live Oak Shrine Club & Live Oak Chamber of Commerce, past Vestry Member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Board of Directors First Commercial Bank, CNB Bank, Citizens Bank, Mercantile Bank, Ellis Bank, Member of Live Oak Elks Lodge and Live Oak Kiwanis Club. He is survived by: wife; Ina Mae Boggus of years. Two Daughters; Donna Parsons (Mike) and Ann Turnan (Shawn) both of Live Oak, Fla. Two Sons; Bart Boggus (Amy) and Jon Boggus (Tammy) both of Live Oak, Fla. Nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren. Services for Mr. Boggus were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Interment followed in Live Oak Cemetery. Annie Rebecca Rogers

Annie Rebecca Rogers, 81, a lifelong resident of Live Oak, Florida passed away on Thursday evening at her residence surrounded by the love of her family.
Annie was one of 10 children born to the late James Edward and Heneritta Webb. She worked many different jobs in her lifetime but found her most rewarding to be supporting and caring for her family. Annie treasured her children and grandchildren and was the greatest wife, mother and friend that anyone could have. She had a love for music and loved to dance. Through the years she taught line dancing at the Seniors Club and weekly gathered at The Spirit of The Suwannee with her friends for an evening of fellowship and dancing. She never met a stranger and she lived life to the fullest. When you met Annie you met a new friend. She had a special love for God and all His creation spending hours in her flower gardens. Annie was a member of The First Advent Christian Church and desired for all to know her Lord and Savior.She was preceded in death by a son, John Wesley Rogers and a grandson, Dennis Jason Silvers. Annie is survived by her husband, Dewey E. Rogers, one son, Darrell Everette Rogers ( Ninan), three daughters, Glenda Kay Smith (Keith), Vickie Lynn Hicks (Randy),Cindy Etta Macy (Paul), 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at First Advent Christian Church, Pastor Tim Carver. Interment followed in the Live Oak Cemetery.

Lloyd Linford Prentice
March 13, 1919 – Jan. 3, 2012
Lloyd Linford Prentice was born March 13, 1919 in the town of Hume, New York, the youngest of seven children of Bert and Gussie Washburn Prentice. He went to be with his Lord on January 3, 2012.
Lloyd served in the Army during WWII, survived the Normandy Invasion of June, 1944. While in the Army he met Marjorie Mills, of Hume, NY, who became his wife for 63 years. Marjorie predeceased him on August 11, 2008.
Professionally, Lloyd worked for Great Lakes Dredge and Dock, as a chief engineer and captain of Dredge 54.
Lloyd and Marjorie were faithful Bible scholars and shared the Word at every opportunity. After Lloyd’s retirement, they travelled for several years with the Servants on Wheels Ever Ready ministry, making new friends across the US. Lloyd also served as a project superintendent and on the Board for the SOWERS. He loved his neighbors and friends everywhere, always ready to lend a hand.
Surviving are daughter Chip (Jerry) Foster, son Michael (Margaret) Prentice, daughter Becky Hanson and son Chris (Libby) Prentice; grandchildren are Lennie Foster, Monti Foster, Jonathan (Jen) Hanson, Kathrynn (Matt) Caruther, Sarrah Prentice, Chris Erin Prentice II; nine great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at Welborn Baptist Church in Welborn, FL, Sunday January 15 at 1 PM. Rev Don Minshew will officiate the service. Interment will be at Evergreen Baptist Church in Sylvester, GA the previous day.

Dale Clifford Staats
May 30, 1962 – Jan. 8, 2012
Dale Clifford Staats, age 49 of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was a native of Vero Beach, Fla., and has been a resident of Live Oak since 1978.
Dale was a very hard worker who was employed by PCS as a load out operator. He was an avid gun collector, enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson Fatboy. He was an extremely kind person and very family oriented. If Dale could, he would encourage everyone to wear a helmet when riding their motorcycles.
He was predeceased by his father, Delis Staats.
He is survived by two sons, Cliff Staats and Jordan Staats both of Middleburg, Fla.; his mother, Geneva Staats, Live Oak, Fla.; a close friend and mother of his boys, Connie Staats, Middleburg, Fla.; three brothers, Bill Staats, Lake City, Fla.; Steve Staats, Jacksonville, Fla. and Doug Staats, Live Oak, Fla.; one sister, Terry Sloan, Crosby, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Luther Kirby officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Marjorie L. Wolfe
June 15, 1927 – Jan. 7, 2012
Marjorie L. Wolfe, 84, of Live Oak, Fla., went to heaven on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center, Lake City, Fla. with her family by her side.
The Dixon, Illinois native moved to Live Oak, Fla. in 1991 from Crystal River, Fla. Mrs. Wolfe retired after 27 years as a mental health technician for the Dixon Developmental Center, Dixon, Ill. and was an active member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Live Oak, Fla.
Mrs. Wolfe was survived by her daughter: Margie & Raymond Polkowski, Wellborn, Fla.; One son: Leo R. Wolfe, Jr., Live Oak, Fla.; One sister: Mary L. Shappell., Wellborn, Fla.; One brother: Edward & Jeanie Cushing, Rock Falls, Ill.; Three grandchildren: Justine, Jared and Ryan; Four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Cora, Starla and Sophia. She was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Leo R. Wolfe, Sr.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Live Oak, Fla. with Rev. Mike Pendergraft and Father Richard Perko officiating.

Jean R. Strickland, 77, Dowling Park, Fla., passed away on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 after a short illness. The New York City, New York native moved to Dowling Park from St. Pete, Fla. in 2006. Mrs. Strickland was a physical therapist in Massachusetts and St. Pete. She was a member of Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Seminole, Fla. Mrs. Strickland is survived by her husband of 55 years: Rev. Bruce L. Strickland, Dowling Park, Fla.; two daughters: Lynn Kile, St. Pete, Fla., Dr. Martha Strickland, Hummelstown, Pa.; one son: Robert Strickland, Telford, Pa. and four grandchildren.
