According to Live Oak City Administrator Bob Farley, the tower was replaced with the new tower north of Live Oak, near the intersection of US 129 and I-10.

Music Construction is the general contractor that was awarded the bid to remove and dispose of the tower, Farley said.

As for the scrap from the tower?

“When the project was bid out, the contractor was told the scrap was his. This way the overall construction cost of the project was reduced,” said Farley.
