VSU was one of just two schools to place two players on the team, with Delta State being the other.

Ferguson, a senior forward, earned first team honors, while Hartry, a senior guard, was named to the second team. Ferguson’s first team nod puts her in the running to be an All-American.

Ferguson led the GSC in double-doubles and has 10 for the season. She also led all Gulf South players with five GSC Player of the Week awards.

The senior forward is third in the GSC in scoring average (16.8 points per game), second in rebounds per game (8.8), fifth in field goal percentage (.461), ninth in free throw percentage (.638), third in steals per game (2.3), seventh in blocks per game (0.9) and eighth in minutes played per game (31.5).

Hartry put together an All-GSC worthy season, leading the GSC in three-pointers made (58). Hartry stayed efficient, ranking second in the GSC in three-point shooting percentage (.403), 12th in scoring average (11.7 points per game) and third in minutes played per game (34.5).

Delta State’s Veronica Walker was named the South Region Player of the Year. In addition to Ferguson and Walker, senior forward Michaela Hawley of Florida Southern, sophomore guard Jasmine Hammon of Alabama-Huntsville and senior forward Briauna Hagins of Florida Tech were named to the first team.

Sophomore guard Conisha Hicks of Clark Atlanta, sophomore guard Brooke Rhodes of Delta State, junior guard Meixandra Porter of Nova Southeastern and freshman guard April Thomas of Albany State joined Hartry on the second team.
