The show will be broadcast live over The Big 98.1 FM from the radio studio at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Fla. Just turn your radio dial to 98.1 FM on your radio, sit back and enjoy!

Dr. Don Miller, a gifted musician, comedian, radio DJ and businessman who loves bluegrass, began his DJ duties 12 ago as “the doctor of bluegrass” in Lake City. Dr. Don is an accomplished banjo picker who has played on the Grand Ole Opry and many other venues. “I felt like a jackass at the Kentucky Derby, but I enjoyed it,” he said of his trip to the shrine of country and bluegrass music, giving that laugh thousands of bluegrass fans are very familiar with from his bluegrass radio show. Dr. Don has also entertained former US President Jimmy Carter and his family at one of President Carter’s family reunions.

He has a passion for music but if you haven’t heard him play the banjo, well, you just haven’t heard the master of banjo yet! With Dr. Don around, there’s bound to be occasional jam sessions during the radio show, and you never know who might just stop by to play live on a Sunday afternoon at Florida’s premier camping and music park! Come out and keep your cameras ready!

Two years ago Dr. Don brought his program to Live Oak and began broadcasting at The SOSMP from a rustic little radio studio in The SOSMP’s Crafts Village through the cooperation of WLVO. Unfortunately, owner Leon Petterson recently passed away and WLVO went off the air. The Big 98.1 FM quickly stepped up to keep the music flowing and the fans happy.

“We are glad to have the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park and Dr. Don aboard,” said Dean Blackwell, general manager for Black Crow Media Group of Live Oak and Lake City which owns The Big 98.

SOSMP President/CEO James Cornett said he’s happy to have the show back on the air and is very appreciative of the excellent relationship The SOSMP has had with The Big 98.1 FM over the years. “It’s good to have Dr. Don back on the air,” Cornett said. “Bluegrass is the foundation of the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park,” Cornett added.

Dr. Don said he’s very excited to have his show back on-air and plans to have a good time while spinning all types of country, bluegrass and good music with fun times on the air through The Big 98.1. Listen up during the broadcast for the number to call Dr. Don and chat with him during the show. You can also email him at drdon@musicliveshere.com.

If you’re anywhere near The SOSMP any Sunday afternoon from 5 – 7 p.m., stop by and sit outside the studio on a rustic bench under old oak treesĀ and grin at Dr. Don through the big window while he broadcasts the show he’ll grin right back at you! You might even want to bring along your instruments and do a little pickin’ and grinning.
