The 2012 Suwannee Valley Youth Livestock Show and Sale will be held April 11-14, at the Suwannee County Fairgrounds.
This year’s events will begin on the evening of April 11 at 6 p.m., with the hog showmanship competition. The annual hog show will be held on April 12 at 6 p.m with the steer show being held at 6 p.m. on April 13, according to Lafayette County Ag Extension Agent Chris Vann.
Charles and Myra Thomas of the Dixie Grill in Live Oak will host the annual buyers dinner at their home on U.S. 129 S. near Live Oak on April 14. The dinner will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
An awards presentation will take place at the fair grounds at 1 p.m., followed by the livestock sale beginning at 1:30 p.m, Vann said.
Since the annual livestock show and sale are synonymous with Lion’s Club hamburgers, the Lion’s Club of Live Oak will be open for business, selling food items and drinks during each of the shows and sales.
