It’s businesses such as Pizza Quick that let you know the economy is getting back in shape. Having just opened its fifth establishment on July 14, Pizza Quick has added about a dozen new jobs to the area.

“We have added about a dozen new jobs so far by adding this location and expect to add many more as the months go by,” said co-owner Paul Hill Jr.

Hill and his father, Paul Hill Sr., opened their first Pizza Quick in Tifton in October 2003. In addition to the three locations in Valdosta and the Tifton location, they also have a location in Tallahassee, Fla.

Q: What made you open a location on Bemiss Road?

A: “We’ve been wanting to get a location closer to the Air Force base for awhile now and we think this will be a great location for us.”

Q: How did you and your dad get into the pizza business?

A: “Both my dad and I had previously been in the pizza business and were looking for a joint venture together. We came across a closed-down pizzeria in Tifton and decided to start up Pizza Quick.”

Q: What makes Pizza Quick different from other pizza joints in town?

A: “We make our pizza dough from scratch everyday in each of the locations. We use a premium pizza cheese as well as a thick-cut pepperoni. We offer a high-quality pizza at a bargain price and we’ll put our pizzas against anyone else’s. We’re able to keep our costs down by not delivering so we can pass the savings along to our customers. Now with three locations in Valdosta, we’re closer to many of our customers.”

Q: What are some of your menu specials?

A: “Our large pepperoni is always $5.99 and you can add additional toppings for a buck each. Our 7-inch personal pan pizza is $1.99 with additional toppings only 50 cents each. We also have some new specialty pizzas, including a Buffalo Chicken pizza, BBQ chicken pizza, Bacon Cheddar Ranch pizza, Jalapeno Taco pizza, Chicken Alfredo pizza, and a Cinnamon Apple pizza. Those are $7.99 for large and $2.99 for personal size. In addition, we sell side items such as bread sticks, cheese sticks, cinnamon sticks, and chicken wings in several flavors.”

Q: How has the community support been thus far?

A: “The community support has been fantastic so far. We are getting busier everyday and look forward to serving this area for many years to come.”

Q: Are you eat-in or take-out?

A: “While we are a carry-out pizzeria, we do have some seating in most of our stores for customers who would like to dine-in.”

Q: How long does it take for you to get a pizza together?

A: “Customers can either come into the store to order or call in their order and we will usually have it ready within 10 to 12 minutes.”

Q: Do you deliver?

A: “We do not deliver but we will cater a large order of 20 or more pizzas if we know about the order a day ahead of time.”
