Munn to serve three life sentences

Lonnie Robert Munn was sentenced Thursday morning to three life sentences in prison, to run consecutively with 180 years in prison. Judge David Fina handed down the sentencing in the Suwannee County Courthouse. Munn was sentenced for the three counts of first degree murder, three counts of home invasion robbery and three counts of kidnapping of Joseph Militello Jr., 57, his wife Nancy L. Militello, 68 and their nephew Angelo Rosales, 32, in the home they shared in August 2010.
Before sentencing, Munn and family of Joseph and Nancy Militello and Angelo Rosales had the opportunity to speak.
“I would just like to give the Militello’s my sincerest sympathies for their loss,” Munn said.
James Militello then delivered his message to Munn.
“I would like to tell Lonnie Munn he is definitely a coward. He’s trash. Not only did he ruin my family and took my family away, he ruined his family that he worked so hard to get back and threw them to the wolves,” James Militello said.
Assistant State Attorney Craig Jacobsen finished the comments and made his recommendation for three consecutive life sentences for first degree murder, the maximum sentence by law for counts four through six of home invasion robbery and 30 years for each of counts seven through nine for kidnapping, for a total of 180 years, to Judge David Fina before he delivered the final sentencing.
“The crimes that the defendant was involved with, murder of Joseph and Nancy Militello and Angelo Rosales execution style in their home, in the dark of night are without parallel in this county are as heinous, cruel and evil. Three nice people who contributed to society were murdered one at a time,” Jacobsen said. “Nancy, Joseph and Angelo can never be returned to this Earth. James and his family have been left with good memories of his family also with the scorching memory of how they were taken away.”
Munn was the last person to face charges for the crimes. Upon conclusion of the sentencing, Munn was fingerprinted and retained by deputies for the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office.
