Joseph Earl Irvin, Jr.

Joseph Earl Irvin, Jr., 55, passed away on Tuesday, Feb.12,
 2013 at his home. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel.  Burial will be in Philadelphia UMC Cemetery in Fort Mill, SC. 
Born in Jacksonville, Fla., Mr. Irvin was a son of Joseph E. Irvin, Sr. and Myrna Loy Carmichael Irvin of Mayo, Fla..  He was employed with Snyders-Lance Company in Charlotte.  He was a member of Elevation Church and enjoyed SC and FSU football.  He enjoyed reading, fishing, was a volunteer sports coach, and took great pride in his yardwork.  Joe was a giver who wanted to help everyone and he was a good papa to his eight grandchildren. 
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Annette Day Irvin; his son, Taylor Irvin and his wife, Amber of Fort Mill; his daughter, Brooke Reed and her husband, Rick of Belize; his brother, Jimmy Irvin and his wife, Lyn of Mayo, Fla.; his sister, Connie Myers and her husband, Mike of Mayo, Fla. and his grandchildren, Ashton, J.T., Isaac, Anna, Zeke, Luke, Josh and Levi. 
The family received friends on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Rd, Rock Hill, SC.
 Memorials may be made in Mr. Irvin’s name to the charity of one’s choice, to help someone in need.

Gracie Lee Gamble

Gracie Lee Gamble, 55, of Mayo, Fla. passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2013 at her residence.  Gracie was born Feb. 12, 1957 in Perry, Fla.  Mrs. Gamble was preceded in death by her husband Billy Gamble and her parents Owen Cannon and Mary Maggie Stafford Cannon.
Mrs. Gamble was of the Baptist Faith and attended New Beginnings Worship Center in Mayo. Along with her husband, she was the former owner and operator of Gamble’s Pine Straw for many years and also worked as a tower officer for the Florida Department of Forestry. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spendiing time with her grandkids. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening and fishing.
She is survived by a daughter, Christina Louise Counce, of Perry, Fla., 1 son, Colby Gamble, of Mayo, Fla., 3 brothers, Bill Adkins, Johnny Adkins, both of Mayo, and Bob Adkins, of St. Cloud, Fla., 2 sisters, Polly Whitehouse and Louise Starling, both of Mayo, 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Mayo with Bro. Wayne  Hudson officiating.   All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home.

Gerald Edward Urish

Gerald Edward Urish, 68, of Mayo, Fla., passed away
 Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013 at his Residence.  He was born Jan. 31, 1945 in McKeesport, PA, to the late John and Rose (Hatala) Urish.
Mr. Urish was of the Catholic Faith.  He worked as a salesman for Consolidated Freight and Spartan Chemical Co. before becoming the founder and president of Seabreeze Chemical Co., a cleaning chemical, janitorial, and plant leasing company.   He attended Penn State university and was a natural athlete, playing baseball, football, and basketball during his youth. In his spare time he enjoyed cultivating and growing plants, drawing, fishing, and making jewelry.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon Wright Urish, of Mayo, a son, Kevin Brian Urish, and wife Carmen, of Roanoke, Va, 2 brothers, John Urish, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Kenneth Urish, of Allison Park, PA, 1 grandson, Samuel Ryan Urish, several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013 at Joe P. Burns Funeral Home in Mayo with Pastor Todd Babione officiating.  All arrangements are under the care of Joe P. Burns Funeral Home.
