Joseph Albert Howell

Joseph Albert Howell, 70, a lifelong resident of Suwannee County, died early Saturday morning, March 9, 2013 in the Avalon Health and Rehab Center following a brief illness. The son of the late Jacob Roy Howell and Kizzie Crews Howell; Mr. Howell had been employed as a tire mechanic for many years. Mr. Howell attended both the Mt. Pleasant Church in Wellborn and the First Assembly of God in Live Oak. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, writing, yard work, was an avid Seminole Fan and he loved to tell jokes.
Mr. Howell is survived by his children, Joseph “Fat Boy” Howell and Linda of Wellborn, FL; Susan Jolley of Lake City; Tammy Bell of Wellborn, Fla.; Donna Carter (Billy) of Macclenny, Fla.; Carol Ann Townsend (Pastor Mike Townsend) of Lake City; and Mary Burton (Kevin) of Texas; a brother, Murl Howell (Vivian Ann) of Suwannee County, Fla.; and best friends, Lynnwood Brown, Tommy Smith, Leon Moses, Aaron Box and Norman McElroy all of Suwannee County. Nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. On Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in the First Assembly of God Church in Live Oak with Pastor Mike Townsend, and Bro. Jamey Howell officiating. Interment immediately followed in the First Assembly of God Cemetery in Live Oak, Fla. with Bro. Billy Carter officiating. The family received friends from 6 to 8 Monday evening at the funeral home. Ret. Lt. Col. Oveda F. (Dick) Hunt

Ret. Lt. Col. Oveda F. (Dick) Hunt, age 92 of Snellville, GA passed away March 7, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hunt and is survived by his dear friend for many years, Betty Kitzmiller of Dacula and numerous nieces, nephews from Atlanta and Jacksonville, FL. Dick was a graduate of the University of Florida in 1949 and was a retired Lt. Col. Serving in the Army during WW II and the Korean Conflict. He remained employed with the government in the transportation regiment and after retirement went to work with Bob Wood Realty. He was an avid Florida Gator fan and an NFL fan. Dick was a kind, loving and friendly man who never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Funeral Service Honoring the Life of Ret. Lt. Col. Oveda F. (Dick) Hunt was held Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment was held at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens. Shigeko (Kay) Feagle passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013 in Haven Hospice, after a year-long battle with lung cancer, while surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan on Feb. 18, 1936. In 1958, she met a young Navy Sailor, Gene, who, after three determined tries, finally swept her off her feet. They were married on Feb. 27, 1959, and lived in Chicago, San Diego, and Pearl Harbor Hawaii before settling in Live Oak, Fla. in 1974. There, she set about making their new house a home, enjoyed gardening, and her roses in particular. At the same time, she worked in the family business while raising her two sons. She was an active supporter of Judo in Florida, and was instrumental in several player’s successes. Her friendships were many, and they spanned the world. Kay was a person who had seen much, loved much, and lived much. She will be desperately missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Gene, her sons Kenneth and William, and two grandsons, Logan, and Lawson.
