Valdosta State’s Gulf South Conference baseball doubleheader against Shorter and softball doubleheader against Delta State scheduled for Saturday were cancelled due to rain.

Per GSC rules, the doubleheader can not be made up. Valdosta State will return to action Wednesday at 5 p.m., when it hosts Albany State at Billy Grant Field.

The Blazers and Statesmen began play in the first game on Saturday before rain in the first inning cancelled the contest.

The doubleheader will not be made up. Valdosta State will return to action today at 2 p.m. when it plays at Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tenn.
