This year’s event series will feature several additions to its venue and activities. The Spring Market will take place at the Live Oak Plaza on East Howard Street / Highway 90. Due to the quick growth of this event and the request of vendors to be in one central location, and in response to concerns of the local business community as to parking availability, the main site for Flea Across Florida has been relocated to the Live Oak Plaza.

Event organizers are planning activities to take place in the downtown shopping district. A Farmers Market is being organized by the TowerView Market Association featuring locally grown fruits and vegetables and an Artist Faire is being planned for Veterans Memorial Park. Those local artists that wish to participate in the Artist Faire are asked to contact John or Debbie Rice of The Gallery on West Howard Street at 386-362-2066.

Local businesses along the Howard Street / Highway 90 corridor are also encouraged to participate. Those businesses that offer some type of special sales promotion during this weekend event will be listed on a panel board at the main site and will receive a bouquet of balloons to place in front of their business location indicating their participation. Businesses that wish to participate in this event are asked to call 386-590-1633 to register.

A special business promotion will be held during this event sponsored by the Live Oak Partnership. Those customers that visit four of our participating businesses through the shopping district on Friday and/or Saturday will be entered into a free drawing for a gift package provided by our business community. Participants will be required to pick up their entry card from the welcome booth at the market site at the Live Oak Shopping Plaza prior to visiting the downtown businesses. No purchase is necessary for entry.

Local motels are anticipating an increase of attendance for this spring’s event. Motels such as Holiday Inn Express, The Econo Lodge and Quality Inn and Suites are prepared to offer special rates for the event weekend for those that express their participation in Flea Across Florida.

To assist with the parking issue and the congested traffic through this event weekend, Suwannee Valley Transit has partnered with organizers to provide a Park N’ Ride service to participating sites in Live Oak and into our downtown district. The trolley will run continuously from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Public Transit is not available on Sunday. The trolley will transport shoppers to the event locations as well to our downtown shopping district. Current stops include the Country Indoor Mall, the Bull Dog Flea Market, the Live Oak Plaza and Millennium Park.

Vendors from Tennessee, North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama have already registered for participation. This event will feature a great variety of treasures from Household items, Collectibles, Antiques, and the not so antique, making it more fun than ever to travel the entire route. This three day experience runs along Highway 90 from Historic Live Oak to Pensacola. Official Flea Across Florida locations are listed on the events website, www.TheFleaAcrossFlorida.com.

Vendor space is still available. Vendor spaces are priced at $35 for three day participation. Applications are available online by visiting the event website or through www.HistoricLiveOak.com.  Flea Across Florida is an event sponsored by the Live Oak Partnership, Inc.
