Greg Reid sent out a few powerful, emotional tweets over the weekend, bringing into question why he hadn’t earned a free agent contract from a team in the National Football League. Or anywhere for that matter.

“Who can I count on now?? Another surgery #god #hurting,” the first tweet read.

“He took the two 2 most important things in my life less then 2 weeks,” the other read.

Reid tweeted those two powerful statements after he learned he will have to undergo a second surgery to repair his torn ACL, according to a report by SBNation.com, an affiliate of NBC Sports.

The former Lowndes Viking tore his ACL less than two weeks after joining the Valdosta State football team, which followed his dismissal from Florida State after a series of arrests and violations of team rules.

Reid underwent his initial ACL surgery following the injury, rehabbing with Valdosta State athletic trainers while the Blazers made a run to the 2012 Division II national championship without him.

In September, Reid said he was going to be ready for the NFL this season. He made an appearance at Valdosta State’s pro day in March but didn’t participate in the events.

Instead, Reid participated at FSU’s pro day, where bad performances in the 40-yard dash hurt his draft chances, according to the report by SBNation.com.

Following Saturday’s final rounds of the 2013 NFL Draft, several local area players signed free agent contracts, but not Reid. The following day, Reid sent out his tweets that gave clarity as to why his name wasn’t called in the draft or offered a free agent contract.

Reid, the 5-foot-8 cornerback and return specialist that was poised to break Deion Sanders’ all-time punt return record at FSU before his dismissal, will be ready for the NFL by October, according to the report.
