A tractor-trailer transporting automobiles northbound on Interstate 75 Thursday morning caught fire just north of exit 5 in Lake Park. A Georgia State Patrol trooper at the scene reported that the driver continued driving after a tire caught fire. The fire spread to at least three vehicles that were being transported. The driver reportedly had a suspended license, refused a roadside breathalyzer test, and was in possession of an unknown quantity of meth that was found in the crotch of his pants. Specific charges and the suspect’s name were not released Thursday. The incident blocked I-75’s northbound lanes near mile marker 6 for several hours.
