- Congressman Ted Yoho greets veterans.
Congressman Ted Yoho greeted a group of WWII veterans from Florida as part of the Honor Flight program this past weekend. Due to the federal government shutdown, access to the WWII Memorial is not guaranteed. Congressman Yoho, along with many of his Florida colleagues, went to the WWII Memorial to ensure that the veterans would have no trouble gaining access to the grounds.

Congressman Yoho said, “These veterans have earned access to their memorial hundreds of times over. This place belongs to them. I suspect had they not been given access, these guys would have found a way to get in anyway. They’ve stormed gates before. But just in case, my colleagues and I came here today to assist in any way we could.”
Congressman Yoho continued, “It was an honor to shake their hands and thank them for their service. I am thankful the Administration seems to be backing down on not letting them in. I am hopeful that we can come together to find a solution to end the entire shutdown. We need to come to the table to negotiate for the sake of not only these veterans, but for all Americans.”
