General Grant Ivey, a former resident of Live Oak, Fla., passed away Feb. 20, 2014 in Pinellas Park, Fla. 

Mr. General Grant Ivey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Mae Ivey; eight children, and two brothers: Mr. Benjamin Ivey and wife, Mr. Alphonso Ivey and wife; one sister, Ms. Bertha Mae Ivey; nieces, nephews, cousins and many other close relatives and friends. 

Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the D.M. Udell Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services for Mr. General Grant Ivey will be Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 2:30 p.m. in the African Baptist Church, burial in Eastside Cemetery.

Minnie Silas

Minnie Silas, 82 Live Oak passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 at the Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, Fla. following a long illness. The Suwannee County native was born in Dowling Park and has remained in Suwannee County till her passing. Minnie was well known as being an avid supporter of the Suwannee High Bulldogs and Quarterback Club and was of the Baptist faith. 

Minnie was survived by Daughter, Mary Lillian Silas, Live Oak, Fla., Son Lamar & Diane Silas, Williston, Fla., Sister, Mary E. Howes, Live Oak, Fla., Brother, Billy Evans, Perry, Fla., four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 3 at Daniels Memorial Chapel with Rev. James Howes officiating.

Patsy Williams Luka

 

June 27, 1938 – Feb. 17, 2014

 

Patsy Williams Luka, 75, of Branford, Fla. passed away on Feb. 17, 2014. She was born June 27, 1938 to Cletis Glen Williams and Vera McQuality-Williams in Decatur, Illinois. Patsy graduated from Darien High School in Wisconsin. She Married William Luka on April 7, 1956 and moved to Fla. in 1969. She devoted her life to her children and family, was a loving, caring Mother and Wife. Always showed her family unconditional love. She loved the outdoors, was an avid fisherman and a prize winning quilter.

Mrs. Luka is survived by her Mother, Vera Williams Hale; Brother Allen Williams, Three Daughters, Kim, Jeri, Connie; Two Sons, Robert, Keith; Ten Grandchildren; Fourteen Great Grandchildren and a lifelong friend Jayne.

A private Memorial service and burial will be held on March 8, 2014.
