According to the History Channel’s website, American Pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz are on a mission to recycle America and they “dive into countless piles of grimy junk and sometimes get chased off by gun-wielding homeowners.”

They’ve been hitting the back roads from coast to coast for quite a few years and finally found their way into White Springs where they discovered the Adams Country Store, which was built in 1892 and is currently owned by Raymond Cheshire.

Cheshire said the folks from American Pickers found a photo of the Adams Country Store on the Internet about six months ago and decided to check it out. They arrived in White Springs about two months ago and began filming. Everything was hush-hush and Cheshire was asked not to reveal anything to anyone, which is why he was reluctant to announce the exciting news until he knew for sure it was a done deal.

The American Pickers, who are always looking for unique items and good deals, wound up buying two Fry Visible gas pumps and a horse drawn fire extinguisher from Cheshire.

When asked if he had any future plans for Adams Country Store, Cheshire would only say, “there are ongoing negotiations,” and that he would disclose his plans sometime after the show airs. He did say, however, that he would never sell the place.

“It’s such a special part of my life,” said Cheshire.
