Jeanne Ann Staudigl
May 20, 1944 – May 18, 2014
Jeanne Ann Staudigl, age 69, of Statenville, GA. passed away Sunday, May 18, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. following a brief illness. Jeanne was born in Valdosta on May 20, 1944 to the late Leon and Anabel Green Smith.
She spent her early life traveling as a military wife but returned to her South Georgia roots to homestead. She and her husband had people from all over the United States come to purchase the exotic birds that they raised. Jeanne also worked for many years in the secretarial and accounting departments of several businesses. Following her retirement she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert Staudigl, Sr.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Staudigl, Jr. (Mirla), Pembroke Pine, Fla., George Ehling (Jennifer), Statenville, GA. and Jeffrey Ehling (Margaret), Houston, TX; one brother, Jimmy Smith, Jasper, Fla.; seven grandsons. Also surviving is her close friend and companion, Russell Moody of Jasper, Fla.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Wright’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Lake Park, GA. with Pastor Jacque Asbel officicating.
Harry T. Reid Funeral Home was in charge of immediate arrangements.
