Have you perused the vendor’s tents at the John H. Hale Farmers Market off Duval Street yet? We encourage you to do so if you have not. For those that have, they can also attest to the many wonderful, locally grown vegetables and other items being offered.

The farmers market is small now, but it is also in a temporary location. The new market will soon be located on the vacant lots that parallel Howard and Warren streets.
Folks, this is locally grown and locally made goods, sold right here in the city of Live Oak. No offense to the big box stores, but at least at the local farmers market, you can look the person right in the eye that grew that ear of corn.
By the way, the farmers market is here to stay and will only, hopefully, get bigger. The farmers market is temporarily located at John H. Hale Community Park on Duval Street in Live Oak, across from the Live Oak Fire Department. It is open Friday’s from 12-6 p.m.
“It’s going to be more successful in the future as we plan and anticipate more events in the city,” said CRA Chairman Keith Mixon.
Other events planned are a Fourth of July celebration, a jazz fest and more. Stay tuned.
