Janice Leigh Bruhl became the bride of Jon Michael Hamel on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Azalea City Church of God in Valdosta with Pastor Jim Danner officiating. The bride was given in marriage by her father, James Bruhl, Sr.

The bride is the daughter of James and Sheila Bruhl of Naylor. Her grandparents are John and Joyce Irick and the late Lynda Irick of Naylor and Hubert and Shirley Bruhl of Valdosta.

The groom’s parents are Raymond Hamel, Jr. and the late Janice Hamel of Valdosta. His grandparents are Morris and Patricia Kobetsky of Grand Forks, N. D. and Raymond and Sue Hamel, Sr. and the late Anita Hamel of Valdosta.

Maid of honor was the bride’s friend Kristen Bates of Cummings. Bridesmaids were sister-in-law April Bruhl of Valdosta and friends Amber Carter of Quitman and Ashley McKenna of Cummings. Flower girl was the bride’s cousin Ava Jane Cribb of Haddock.

Best man was the groom’s brother Joseph Hamel of Valdosta. Groomsmen were the bride’s brother Jimmy Bruhl of Valdosta and friends Clayton Davis of Valdosta and Chris Shipman of Valdosta.

The bride attended Valdosta State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and International Honor Society and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education. She is employed by the Valdosta City School System as a Pre-K teacher at S.L. Mason.

The groom is a graduate of Valdosta State University with a Bachelor degree in Biology. He is employed by CJB Industries in Valdosta as a lab technician.
