Manuel and Mary Snipes of Valdosta are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Jessica Corbett to David Sorensen, son of Betsy Sorensen of Orleans, Massachusetts and Eric Sorenson of Morrisonville, New York. The couple resides in Augusta, Maine.

The wedding is planned for December 13, 2014 on a chartered yacht off the coast of Kauai, Hawaii.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Edward and Irene Frost of Kingston, Tennessee and the late Judd Joseph and Ursula Corbett of Harwich, Massachusetts. She is a 2004 graduate of Valdosta High School and graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 2009. She is employed by Bruce Poliquin for Congress as Finance Director.

The future groom is the grandson of William Sorensen and the late Judy Sorensen of Orleans, Massachusetts and Betty Mitman and the late Paul Mitman. He is a 2003 graduate of Barnstable High School in Barnstable, Massachusetts.

He graduated in 2010 from State University of New York with a B.A. in History and graduated from the University of Maine School of Law in 2014 with a Juris Doctorate and was on law review. He is employed by the Maine State Legislature as Communications Director for the House Republicans.
