Gary Norman Adams
March 3, 1962 – Oct. 28, 2014
Gary Norman Adams, age 52, of Jasper, Fla. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Fla. Gary was born in Plattsburg, New York on March 3, 1962 to Norman Earl and Juanita Hall Adams. He was born into a military family and spent the early part of his life moving around until his family settled in Hamilton County in 1976. He graduated from Hamilton County High School “Class of 1981”, where he played drums in the Trojan Marching Band. Gary was hired on at Occidental/PCS in 1982, until a brief layoff, when he joined the Air Force. He served for four years and upon leaving returned to Occidental/PCS where he worked his way through the ranks into a supervisor’s position. He was at work when he fell ill Tuesday. Gary was always busy with one project or another. He enjoyed singing Karaoke and playing golf.
He was preceded in death by his father Norman Earl Adams in 2011.
Survivors include his mother, Juanita A. “Daisy” Adams, Jasper, Fla.; his brother, Michael Adams and his sister, Terry Cribbs and her husband Elton, all of Jasper; his paternal grandmother, Pauline Adams of Douglas, GA.; nephew, Matthew Cribbs, niece, Amber Nicole Norman and her husband Lee; step nephews, Elton Cribbs III and Christopher Cribbs and a step niece, Kellie Cribbs (David); four great nephews and two great nieces also survive.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 in the chapel of Harry T. Reid Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Hutto officiating.
Interment was on Saturday at Chatterton Cemetery near Douglas, GA. with Rev. Russell McQuaig officiating.
