Frances R. Covert

Frances R. Covert 73, passed from this life on Dec. 19, 2014 at Haven Hospice in Lake City after a long illness, with her devoted husband by her side. She was a wife, mother, health care worker and homemaker.

Mrs. Covert was born Oct. 4, 1941 in Waterbury, CT to her parents; the late William Watson and the late Lena Watson Grant. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her family.

Mrs. Covert is survived by her husband of 51 years, Francis J. Covert, her children; daughter, Robin L. Ragan; son, James D. Covert; two sisters, Patricia Miller and Barbara Roper; brother William Watson Sr., four grandchildren; Brittany Ragan, Nicholas Covert, Jessica Covert, Sean Covert and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Joseph “Dickie” Watson; her grandson Brandon Ragan and her son Tomas J. Covert.

Burial will be at the family’s convenience.

Mrs. Covert was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Some day we will all met again…… Love you Mom.

Reverend Dixie Lamar Gamble

July 1, 1922 – Dec. 22, 2014

Dixie Lamar Gamble, age 92, passed away on Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Heartland of Columbia, SC.

Born in Live Oak, Fla., on July 1, 1922, he was the son of the late Dixie and Clara Gamble. He was a graduate of Suwanee High School, Live Oak, Fla., Furman University, New Orleans Theological Seminary, and Emory University, SC United Methodist Conference Course of Study.

Reverend Gamble was a pastor of several churches in South Carolina. He was a member and very active in Trinity United Methodist Church of Anderson after retirement and was a teacher of the Wesley Sunday School Class. He was chaplain of the Anderson County A.A.R.P. and Anderson County Genealogy Society as well as spending 10-12 years researching genealogy on his own family. He was a volunteer at AnMed Health Medical Outpatient Lab with over 3,500 volunteer hours. Rev. Gamble also enjoyed amateur photography.

He is survived by his son, Mark Gamble, his wife Stephanie, and their daughter Laurel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Gamble; brothers, Cecil Gamble and Ray Gamble; and a sister, Hazel Gamble

The Funeral Service was held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, SC on Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. with Vicar Jon Richter officiating. Interment followed at Rosemont Cemetery in Newberry, SC.

The family received friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, Anderson, SC on Tuesday, Dec. 23 from 5 – 7 p.m.

Linda Lea Brown

June 21, 1946 – Dec. 14, 2014

Linda Lea Brown, 68, of Live Oak, Fla. passed away on Dec. 14, 2014 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Fla.

Linda was born in Dayton, Ohio. She found great joy in reading, shopping and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Chewie.

Ms. Brown is survived by her loving mother, Edith Bright of Live Oak, Fla.; a Brother, Paul Bright of Chiefland, Fla.; two children, Daughter, Deanna Yott of Live Oak, Fla., Son, Eric Musgrave of Largo, Fla. She was blessed with four grandchildren that she adored: Michael and Justin Yott of Live Oak, Fla., and Ashley and Thomas Musgrave of Iowa Park, Texas.

She may be gone but she will never be forgotten. She has left her family with many wonderful memories.

Linda’s wishes were to have no services, but to be remembered in our Hearts.

Catherine Aaron a resident of Live Oak, Fla. passed away Dec. 19, 2014 in Suwannee Healthcare Center in Live Oak, Fla.

Mrs. Catherine Aaron is survived by her daughter Mrs. Florine Wilson, of Live Oak, Fla., God son Willie Lee wife (Mammie), grands, great grands, great great grands, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Aaron will be Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at 12 p.m. in the Ebenezer AME Church, Rev. Charles Graham, Pastor. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 from 6 – 8 p.m. at D.M. Udell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery, Live Oak, Fla.
