Sheldon L. Broomberg, 79, of Valdosta died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center and his wife, Estelle Malham Broomberg, 85, of Valdosta died Friday, January 30, 2015 at home. He was born on March 21, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Jack and Ida Vidro Broomberg. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Valdosta State University as Head of Environmental Health and Safety. Mrs. Broomberg was retired legal secretary with Langdale, Vallotton and Hickman Law Firm. Mr. and Mrs. Broomberg were active members of Temple Israel and had been married for 54 years.  

Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, David and Joni Broomberg, Jack and Teresa Broomberg all of Valdosta, their grandchildren; Kasten Broomberg of Atlanta, Kirby Broomberg of Valdosta, Tripp Broomberg, Kennedy Broomberg both of Valdosta, Sammy and Robyn McCoy of Jasper, Fla., Joshua and Elizabeth McCoy of Lake Park, one great grandchild, Adalyn Kate McCoy of Jasper, Fla., Mr. Broomberg’s brothers and sister in law, Marvin and Debbie Broomberg of Valdosta, Howard Broomberg of Jefferson, Ga.; his sister and brother in law, Marsha and Carl Bogo of Augusta; Mrs. Broomber’s, sister, Florene Kalil of Valdosta and numerous nieces and nephews.  They are preceded in death by Mrs. Broomberg?s, brothers; Joe Malham, Jacob Malham, Raymond Malham and her sister, Jeannette Ventrelli.

Graveside services for Mr. and Mrs. Broomberg will be held at noon on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Moshe Elbaz officiating. Condolences to the family may be made online at www.mclanecares.com. — Carson McLane Funeral Home.
