SHS softball: Suwannee shuts out Rickards in district play

The Suwannee High School softball team defeated Rickards in a district game Thursday, Feb. 26, 23-0. This win puts the Lady Bulldogs at 2-0 in district play and 7-3 overall.

Suwannee’s scoring went as follows: 10 points in the first inning, 12 in the second and one in the third. Suwannee’s Kasey Frazier, sophomore, had three runs, five plate appearances and three RBIs. Junior Alexis Brown had three runs, two hits and three plate appearances. Junior Emily Watson had three runs, three plate appearances and one RBI. Blakely Burch, junior, had three runs, four plate appearances and two RBIs.

Junior Jordan Roberts had two stolen bases and two attempts. Kaitlyn Rodgers, junior, had one stolen base with one attempt and Emily Watson, junior, had one stolen base with one attempt.

The Lady Bulldogs defeated Wakulla in a district match on Feb. 25, 17-2.

On Tuesday, Feb. 24, the Lady Bulldogs routed the Buchholz Bobcats softball team 10-0 in a non-league test. The runs were earned by Savannah Brown, Jordan Roberts, Alexis Brown, each with two; and Kasey Frazier, Kaitlyn Rogers, Timberly Steichen, and Bailiegh Williams, each with one.

On Friday, Feb. 20, the Union County Fightin’ Tigers softball team score six runs and limited the visiting Lady Bulldogs to five in the non-league game.

The Lady Bulldogs played Wakulla again Tuesday for a league contest.
